PhD, is professor emeritus in International Politics and Jean Monnet Chair in European Politics at the University of Osnabrück (Germany). Earlier she held positions at the Universities of Berlin and Nijmegen (The Netherlands) as well as visiting professorships in Canada and Egypt. Her research focuses on the political system of the EU and European governance. Recent publications include: Innovative Governance in the European Union: the Politics of Multilevel Policymaking (with Amy Verdun) (Lynne Rienner 2009).
